Own Talk To Me’s Embalmed Hand Courtesy of A24

Ever since the hit Australian supernatural horror hit Talk to Me was released, fans have been demanding a replica of the movie’s embalmed hand and it looks like they’ve summoned an answer from A24. A good one!

On social media for A24, the film company posted a short video of a replica of the hand being grabbed by a live one. The video came with two words. Coming soon.

Given we already know a sequel to Danny and Michael Philipou’s movie has already been greenlit, it’s safe to assume it’s not about that. But the clamor for a replica hand has been loud enough online that the video really does appear to be a response to that.

Talk to Me 2 Is Happening Per Writers, A24

Talk to Me 2 is officially happening at A24 and will go by that exact title per writer Danny Philippou. This should come as no surprise to anyone as a) the film has been another huge hit for A24 and b) news just came out that a prequel has already been filmed and canned. See GM article here:

For the sequel, Danny Philippou told Deadline he couldn’t help…

“but start writing other scenes, scenes of different people experiencing the hands, continuing on these characters’ story. So, there’s scenes for a sequel, yeah.”

Talk to Me stars Sophie Wilde. “When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces,” reads the synopsis.

Talk To Me Prequel Already Filmed, Ready For Release

A24 has released another successful horror entry into their growing catalog with the Australian horror film Talk To Me. And to the delight of the film’s fans, they have learned that the directors already put in the can an entire Talk to Me prequel. Yes, your heard that right. The prequel has already been shot.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Phillipou brothers revealed they’ve already made a prequel that is based on the vents of Talk to Me’s opening scenes. It centers on Duckett, a previous victim of the sinister hand at the center of the story. It’s likely only a short at this point, however.

Danny told The Hollywood Reporter, ”We actually shot an entire Duckett prequel already. It’s told entirely through the perspective of mobile phones and social media, so maybe down the line, we can release that.”

The brothers also reiterated they’re keen on making a sequel, with Danny adding, ”But also while writing the first film, you can’t help but write scenes for a second film. So there’s so many scenes. The mythology was so thick, and if A24 gave us the opportunity, we wouldn’t be able to resist. I feel like we’d jump at it.”

Talk to Me sees a group of teenagers using an embalmed hand to summon spirits that possess them. They treat the possession like a drug high, but it ends up inviting terrible forces.

Talk to Me is in theaters now.
