The Talk To Me Embalmed Hand Is Officially Available To Buy

It’s finally official! You can now own a replica of the embalmed hand from the hit horror film Talk To Me that we teased earlier this year.

A24 had put out some teases that it would be making that hand available but today, when the film became available on VOD, it made the official announcement of the Talk to Me Party Hand.

The hand can be used as a smoking device or incense burner, which is in keeping with the party spirit (or spirits). The official product description has the following details.

Designed by our friends at Craighill, the life-sized ceramic Talk To Me Party Hand is the only smoking device (or incense burner!) that opens the door to the other side.

Twin directors Danny and Michael Phillipou made their full feature debut with Talk to Me after a successful YouTube channel set them on the way to this movie becoming a reality and thrust them into a world of sequels and Street Fighter adaptations.

The movie sees a group of teens discover the aforementioned embalmed hand that can summon spirits. The teens get possessed by the spirits and use it as a supernatural high. Of course, one bad trip turns the whole thing sour when something nasty gets brought back.

You can rent Talk to Me on VOD now with a physical home release on October 3, 2023.

Nothing gets you in the mood for trick or treating or dressing up as your favorite scary monster for Halloween than watching a good Halloween movie. Here is a list of the best movies to watch for Halloween.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare Before Christmas (also known as Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas) is a 1993 American stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy Halloween-Christmas film directed by Henry Selick, and produced and conceived by Tim Burton. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of “Halloween Town” who stumbles through a portal to “Christmas Town” and decides to celebrate the holiday. Danny Elfman wrote the songs and score, and provided the singing voice of Jack. The principal voice cast also includes Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Glenn Shadix, and Ed Ivory.

Halloween Town is a fantasy world filled with monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, zombies, demons, mummies, vampires, werewolves, and witches. Jack Skellington, the “Pumpkin King,” leader of the town, and main protagonist leads them in organizing the annual Halloween celebrations. However, privately Jack has grown weary of the same routine year after year and wants something new. Wandering in the woods the morning after Halloween, he stumbles across seven trees containing doors leading to towns representing various holidays, and opens a portal to Christmas Town. Awed by the unfamiliar holiday, Jack returns to Halloween Town to show the residents his findings, but they fail to grasp the idea of Christmas and compare everything to their ideas of Halloween, although they do relate to one Christmas Town character; a red lobster-like king who flies at night named “Sandy Claws”. Jack sequesters himself in his tower to study Christmas and find a way to rationally explain it, but cannot. He ultimately decides that it’s unfair for Christmas Town alone to enjoy the holiday and announces that he and the citizens of Halloween Town will take over Christmas this year.

Jack assigns the citizens of Halloween Town Christmas-themed jobs, including singing carols, making presents, and building a sleigh to be pulled by skeletal reindeer. Sally, a beautiful rag doll woman that is secretly in love with Jack, feels that their efforts will end in disaster, but Jack dismisses this and assigns her the task of sewing him a red coat to wear. He also tasks Lock, Shock and Barrel, a trio of mischievous trick-or-treating children, to abduct Santa Claus and bring him back to Halloween Town. Jack tells Santa he will be bringing Christmas to the world in his place this year. Jack orders the trio to keep Santa safe, but the children instead deliver Santa to Oogie Boogie, a gambling-addicted bogeyman, who plots to play a game with Santa’s life at stake. Sally attempts to rescue Santa so he can stop Jack, but Oogie captures her as well.

Jack departs to deliver presents to the world, but the Halloween-styled gifts terrify and attack the populace. As concerns over “Santa’s” behavior grows, the military takes action and shoots down Jack, causing him to crash in a cemetery. As Jack bemoans the disaster he has made of Christmas, he finds he enjoyed the experience nonetheless, reigniting his love of Halloween. Jack returns to Halloween Town and finds Oogie’s lair. Oogie tries to kill Jack, but Jack pulls apart the thread holding his cloth form together, revealing a massive pile of bugs that fall into Oogie’s cauldron and are killed. Jack apologizes to Santa for his actions, and Santa assures Jack that he can fix things and returns to Christmas Town.

As Santa replaces the Halloween-style presents with genuine ones, the townspeople of Halloween Town celebrate Jack’s return. Santa then visits Halloween Town and brings them a snowfall for the residents to play with. In the graveyard, Jack and Sally declare their love for each other.

‘The Oath’ Teaser Trailer Promises Thanksgiving Will Never Be The Same Again

Check out the first official teaser trailer for their upcoming Roadside Attactions’ dark comedy film The Oath starring Ike Barinholtz (The Mindy Project, Neighbors, Blockers) and Tiffany Haddish (Keanu, Girls’ Trip, Night School).

The film looks to place Barinholtz and Haddish at their family thanksgiving dinner which quickly turns into a violent and chaotic mess due to the family’s different political views.

The Oath is described as a savagely funny dark comedy about surviving life and Thanksgiving in the age of political tribalism. When Chris, a high-strung 24-hour progressive news junkie, and his more levelheaded wife Kai learn that citizens are being asked to sign a loyalty oath to the President, their reaction is disbelief, followed by idealistic refusal. But as the Thanksgiving deadline to sign approaches, the combination of sparring relatives, Chris’s own agitation and the unexpected arrival of two government agents sends an already tense holiday dinner gathering completely off the rails.

The cast includes Barinholtz as Chris, Haddish as Kai, John Cho (Star Trek Beyond, Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, Searching), Carrie Brownstein (Portlandia, Transparent), Billy Magnussen (Into the Woods, Ingrid Goes West), Meredith Hagner (Veep, Search Party), Nora Dunn (Southland Tales, Saturday Night Live), Jon Barinholtz (Dumb and Dumber To, Superstore) and Chris Ellis (Armageddon, Murder in the First).

The film is directed and written by Ike Barinholtz.

The Oath will premiere in theaters on October 12th.

Deadpool 2 Opens to $300 Million Worldwide

20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2 brought in a massive $301 million worldwide in a huge opening weekend for the superhero sequel. Domestically the film brought in an estimated $125 million, just behind the first film’s opening back in 2016 of $132 million.

Like referenced in our previous article, the film broke records around the world on Thursday and Friday for biggest R-Rated film.

The David Leitch-directed film stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jack Kesy.

Other box office results:

2nd place: Avengers : Infinity War brought in another $100+ million globally while doing $28 million in the US.

3rd place: Paramount’s comedy Book Club opened to a modest $12.5 million which stars Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson with Andy Garcia and Don Johnson.

4th place: New Line Cinema’s comedy Life of the Party dropped from second to fourth place this weekend, bringing in an additional $7.7 million and bringing its domestic total to $31 million The film was directed by Ben Falcone and stars Melissa McCarthy, Gillian Jacobs, Maya Rudolph, Julie Bowen, Matt Walsh, Molly Gordon, Stephen Root, and Jacki Weaver.

5th place: Universal Pictures thriller Breaking In fell to fifth place with a total of $6.47 million, bringing its domestic gross to $28.75 million. The movie’s budget was just fraction of its total gross so far, sitting at just $6 million. Directed by James McTeigue, Breaking In stars Gabrielle Union, Billy Burke, Richard Cabral, Seth Carr, and Ajiona Alexus.

Finally, Global Roads’ family comedy Show Dogs opened to $6 million. The talking dog movie stars Will Arnett and Natasha Lyonne and features the voices of Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordin Sparks, Gabriel Iglesias, Shaquille O’Neal, Alan Cumming, and Stanley Tucci.
